Graduate Medical Education Opportunities in OBGYN

The Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program is a four-year program that is jointly sponsored by Wayne State University and the Detroit Medical Center. We are currently approved for ten residency positions per year, making the Wayne State program one of the largest OBGYN training programs in the nation. Clinical training takes place primarily at Hutzel Women’s Hospital in Detroit, long recognized as a leader in women’s care.

The Wayne State residency program in Obstetrics & Gynecology draws strength from the diversity and expertise of its faculty, and from its close association with the Perinatology Research Branch of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development National Institutes of Health.

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology offers accredited fellowship programs in the following areas:

  • Gynecologic Oncology
  • Maternal-Fetal Medicine
  • Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Medical Genetics Training Program
  • Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
