The Wayne Health Nurse-Midwives celebrated National Nurse-Midwifery Week, October 2 to October 8.  We gave each baby we delivered this week a pair of baby booties with a card that read: “Special Delivery!  My baby was born during National Midwifery Week 2022 by a Wayne Health Midwife at Hutzel Women’s Hospital “.

In addition, our Division sponsored the Grand Rounds speaker. We also celebrated with a wonderful dinner and in-service.

The WH midwives were the first practice to be granted privileges at a hospital in Michigan in 1980. We have served women in the community and since then have delivered over 42,000 babies in Detroit.  We look forward to the next 42 years of service and beyond.
