Medical students
Welcome to the Obstetrics & Gynecology clerkship at Wayne State University. The clerkship is a six-week clinical rotation undertaken during Year III. Students assigned to any of five sites enjoy the benefits of a major teaching center with outstanding house officers and superb faculty, many of whom are leading experts in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Whether you have already matriculated at Wayne State University or are still exploring your options, this website is designed to help outline the structure and objectives of the Obstetrics & Gynecology rotation as well as your responsibilities and educational opportunities with the clerkship.
OB/GYN is an extremely rewarding and diverse field of medicine. As a student on the rotation, our patients will allow you the privilege of sharing in some of the most intimate aspects of their lives the birth of a child, the vulnerability of undergoing surgery, and pelvic examinations to name a few. You will be exposed to extensive and unique experiences in both clinical practice and academic research and will hopefully gain new insight into the exciting and challenging specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology
